Birth and More, yoga in pregnancy is a wonderful way to prepare you for the birth of your baby. It is the ideal exercise for pregnancy and can help to ease aches and pains and get all the exercise you need for a healthy pregnancy and birth. We practice 90 minutes of yoga, movement, breathing and relaxation, plus half an hour for discussion and tea.  Birth and More classes will help you to enjoy your pregnancy, make friends and prepare you for your baby's birth and beyond. You can start from 14 weeks of pregnancy and will benefit most by continuing throughout the pregnancy until your baby is born. Books, DVD's leaflets and information on all aspects of having a baby are also available at the classes. Mothers are invited back to the class to share their birth experience and introduce their new baby. 


The focus of the day is on preparation for an active labour and birth with information and practice to empower you in your choices.  We will practice positions for labour, birthing positions and massage. Information is given on the stages of labour, possible interventions, pain relief options, breastfeeding and life after birth.  There will be time to meet other couples over a relaxed lunch and relaxation at the end.


"Doula" (pronounced "doola") is a Greek word meaning "woman servant or caregiver". It now refers to an experienced woman who offers emotional and practical support to a woman (or couple) before, during and after childbirth. A doula believes in “mothering the mother” - enabling a woman to have the most satisfying and empowered time that she can during pregnancy, birth and the early days as a new mum. This type of support also helps the whole family to relax and enjoy the experience.
