The Mamas Nest
A weekly circle to support and guide you through the fourth trimester.
During this 5 week course you can expect to have time to reflect, learn, stretch, rest, enjoy your new baby and make friends. Join a course with your new baby when you’re ready and they are under 12 weeks of age. Mums will often book before their baby is born so they know they’ll have this invaluable support available when they need it most.
Come and join the Nest and let us support and guide you through the fourth trimester.
Life with a newborn is hard. You love your baby but you miss sleep! You’re trying to heal from pregnancy and birth but you have a new 24 hour job! And there’s all the other ‘stuff’ that needs doing as well. Plus you’re struggling to adapt to the new you.

We get it. We’ve been there. And for many of us we battle through alone.
But at Birth & More we believe that whilst the Village doesn’t exist for most of us, Community can! It can really make a difference.
Knowledge can also help - to reassure you, give you new techniques and manage expectations.
That’s what The Mamas Nest is all about.
Providing you a safe, welcoming space to come to each week where you will be looked after, where you can rest and reset, where you’ll learn and grow in confidence and ultimately where you’ll connect with yourself, your baby and other mums.
Don’t do it alone. Come and join the Nest and let us support and guide you through the fourth trimester. Be sure to register your interest below so you're added to our waitlist and get to hear directly when booking opens!

Hosted by myself, Rose, Founder & Instructor at Birth & More and Zabrina, postnatal doula and infant feeding expert. Together we’re mums who’ve experienced different pregnancies, births and fourth trimesters. We’ve curated this course to support and nurture you and your baby in the ways we wish we’d been.
Weekly topics:
-
Welcome to Motherhood: let’s reflect on this transition, it’s not always easy.
-
Bonding & Normal Newborn Behaviours: includes learning a massage technique to soothe digestive discomfort.
-
Inclusive Feeding: let’s get the basics right and troubleshoot any challenges you’re having. Feeding support will also be available each week.
-
Postnatal Recovery: Nutritional advice and tips for healing and resting whilst sleep deprived, what’s normal and when to get advice, practice pelvic floor breathing techniques and when to use them.
-
Tummy Time & Sensory Play: top tips for no more tears at Tummy Time, learn movements to support your baby’s physical development and explore age-appropriate playtime!
Each class also includes mindful moments to ease aches and pains and relax your nervous system and social time over drinks and homemade treats. This isn't just a social or talking circle. Zabrina and I will be giving educational talks, demos and teaching you really practical techniques. There'll also be reflective work to enhance your journey.

FAQs
What if my baby doesn't arrive in time or arrives too close to the course start?
We are happy to transfer your booking to the following term. Refunds can only be issued is you can find a replacement or in the event of a serious medical incident or trauma.

Can my partner attend with me?
I'm afraid not as these circles are mum-only due to the sensitive nature of some of the topics. We are also mindful that mums may be feeling quite vulnerable so soon after birth and whilst learning to breastfeed.

Can I attend if my baby is nearly 12 weeks old at the start?
Everyone's transition into motherhood is different so if you feel this course is exactly what you need then you are most welcome.

My baby was born prematurely so which age should I go by, their birth or corrected age?
This circle is for mum's who are seeking community, guidance and support during those early days and weeks after having a baby. You are most welcome if you feel this course is just what you need now your baby is home with you.

What if I can't attend all the dates of the course but I'd still like to join?
We won't be making PAYG spots available in general as we would like the mums to be able to relax fully and for that we need familiar faces each week. But if you intend to attend the majority of the classes please get in touch to discuss it.

Can I breastfeed / feed / change my baby during class? What if my baby cries?
Absolutely - these circles are baby-friendly so we fully expect you to feed and change and soothe your baby as you need to. We expect that many will also cry at some point too. It's normal. There will be comfortable floor cushions and chairs for those that wish to sit and you're welcome to pace the room if it helps as well. If you really wish you step away to soothe your little on then there is a small waiting room available to use.
